Posted July 16, 20178 yr So in every Kingdom Hearts games when we finish a world we almost always get a new Keyblade. but in the D23 Trailer you could see that Sora already wields his Toy Story Keyblade. You can see it by looking at the keychain.
July 16, 20178 yr It's either that we do get the keyblade in the beginning of the world or they were just showing it off for the trailer.

I don't really see the point in getting a new keyblade at the beginning of a world, but halfway through it could be cool. Edited July 16, 20178 yr by drew0594
July 16, 20178 yr Either they were just showing it off, or maybe they are changing it up for KH3. I will say, it would be an idea that makes sense since you'd be able to use more world-specific moves while in said world on your first visit, such as getting to use the Shield and Chariot modes in Olympus or the Hammer and Drill modes in the Toy Story world. On the other hand though, they can literally do whatever they want with these demonstrations, they could have just fiddled with things so that Sora has access to these Keyblades so that they can show off what they can do while also showing off included story with the gameplay, purely for demonstration purposes. In any case, it IS a question worth bringing up. Because on one hand it still makes more sense to get these Keyblades as rewards for clearing the world the first time through, but on the other hand if they wanted you to jump right in and play with the world in a more immersive way like they've been teasing, giving you early access to the new Keyblade of each world might be a good way to do it. Guess we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime though, I do appreciate how each Keyblade seems to get it's own materialization effect in cutscenes now, as opposed to just using the standard flash of light that the Kingdom Key uses. I know that they did that in KH2 gameplay, but in cutscenes it was still the Kingdom Key summoning effect, so it's really great to see that level of detail being considered here. I just love all this obsessive detail, it's really giving me an artist-boner right now.
July 17, 20178 yr I'm thinking that this was all for demonstration purposes, but then again, it could have been something else! I really don't know!
July 17, 20178 yr They were showing off the transformations for trailer purposes. It wouldn't make sense to get the keyblade for the world before clearing it unless they decide to change up the formula with KH3
July 17, 20178 yr I'm pretty sure they're just showing-off (same applies to "-ga" magics being avaiable in Olympus 1st visit)
July 17, 20178 yr I highly doubt it. He most likely just had it at the beginning for trailer purposes.
