Personally, I can't tolerate a Hate Sink if they get away with everything (e.g.: Bendy from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, Bill Hawks from Professor Layton And The Unwound Future, etc.).
Sure, you're supposed to hate them... but it only works if they eventually suffer for the audience's catharsis; otherwise, they just leech enjoyment out of the story.
