So after reading the Kingdom Hearts 3 Premiere Event Recap, something Nomura said surprised me. When asked about the tone for KH3, specifically relating to its ending, he said this.

"If you have been playing Kingdom Hearts Union χ[cross] on your mobile platform, you would know that we have foreshadowed that light will be defeated by darkness. So you may see what happens with that being foreshadowed. I actually do believe it may have some kind of a "difficult ending" that you may find a bit difficult to grasp. It depends on whether or not everyone can go against all odds and overcome what's being foretold."

From what he's saying here, is he hinting that Light will indeed fall into Darkness, as Xehanort has been wanting all this time? Could it be that, at the end, Sora does succeed in defeating Xehanort, but in the end, ends up losing all the worlds to darkness? That's the feeling I'm getting from his comments. What do y'all think?

I still stand by my belief that the Master will make his presence known in some form at the very end of KH3! Like an end credits scene. I refuse to believe we're done with that guy. :D

Well Nomura confirmed the MoM won't appear in the game at all but he will be mentioned upon and hold some significance into the story, that leads me to believe in two options: He will appear as a main character in the future of the series or his story will be resolved in KHUX explaining his absence in KHIII.

We shall see. :D

This is pretty much the beef that everyone's trying to chew! Some intense stuff is going to be happening in Kingdom Hearts III, and we are not prepared for the overload of feels and epicness that's in store!

But well, with the prophecy stating that darkness will prevail and light will expire,  it leads me to believe that Kingdom Hearts III could have an Infinity War-esque kind of ending, which would be hard to accept, per Nomura's words! But in this case, since this is the end of the Xehanort Saga, the side of light would somehow triumph, but at a great cost, I imagine! Either way, I'm feeling that something earth shattering will occur in Kingdom Hearts III that'll change the very fabric of the Kingdom Hearts Universe as we know it! :D

Kairi prays at an altar

Xehanort comes down Sephiroth-style and kills her (extracts her heart) in order to summon Meteor-er... Kingdom Hearts

Sora is enraged and heart falls to darkness

Xehanort summons Kingdom Hearts and covers the worlds in darkness

Sora and gang beat Xehanort, and Kairi's heart is sacrificed to restore light to the world

Sora turns into FF7AC emo-depressed Cloud

The End.

Aw, come on man, don't do this to me! Don't you even dare! D':

As someone who's currently playing through Final Fantasy VII, I had to witness Aerith's horrendous death scene a while ago...and it broke my heart! I can't bear to think of Kairi going the same way! :

Lol, but seriously though, it's interesting to think what all this foreshadowing about darkness prevailing and light expiring could entail...

I REALLY don't want an Infinity War type ending. >.< That'd be a little bit too dark, and honestly, I don't think KH will ever get that dark.

No. Just don't even go there. DX

Well, this is Nomura we're talking about, so you never know! Either way, I'm really, very excited to see what epic plot twists and revelations await us in the game! :3
