I like the more complex feeling the Japanese version gives

The Japanese lyrics are never the exact same as the English.

Its like that for every Kingdom Hearts song preformed by Hikaru.

In the part "When you walk away, you don't hear me say, please, oh baby." in English Simple and Clean, Japanese Simple and Clean doesn't have the same vocal rhythm.

Also Japanese Sanctuary's has a whole extra minute and 41 seconds.

It makes sense when you know the reason Hikaru does that with English Covers of her Songs.

Simply, Japanese and English audiences have different taste. So she changes the Songs lyrics to fit more with what an English audience would prefer instead of doing the Japanese lyrics one to one.

I think as nostalgic as kh2 is for me

being my first kh game and my favorite one for the longest time

it's pretty overrated

but it definitely always holds a special place in my heart
