"Someone strong. To stop the weak from polluting the world with their endless darkness". This doesn't indicate he holds darkness too highly. In BBS he was on about the "tyranny of light", and wanted balance.

Well going off of the reports, it tells us his reasoning for darkness was basically “Everyone else is afraid of it, so I’ll take the role of Dark Seeker”

i think the keyblade war is one of those events that mark a change in how the balance is tipped

To abridge it a bit

Its still a bit laughable for that to come out of the mouth of the guy with a heart of darkness

who just lets it channel out of him

Also blank slate doesnt necessarily mean balance

I know,right? But admittedly, his goal was still balance, even if he ultimately became his own hypocrite

I mean you cant really say theres a balance if theres nothing at all

And you’re right.. who’s to say he’d truly be balanced at all?

Or that the world to come would be balanced?

He doesn't seem to mention "balance" in his speech. He just wants a new world, a blank slate

like Vanitas said, he wants to end the cycle of dark and light overcoming each other

so balance or getting rid of both

So basically Xehanort was willing to kill literally everything

he wanted to use Kingdom Hearts

to reset the world to a blank state

where you dont have this endless cycle

of light and dark clashing

And then from there oversee it

over and over

As “the leader” of that world

I recall him stating he’d oversee that world,least by implication

Is there not an inherent balance in the worlds already, that xehanort basically fked up?

darkness kinda destroyed the universe and split the world in pieces

To be honest.. can we be certain of that? It’s said in the stories that,specifically.. Kingdom Hearts was swallowed by darkness,that’s darkness overtaking it..

There seemed to be a natural way in which things remained balanced while the worlds were seperated
