God after 11 games of buildup how did KH3 flop

tbf, from KH1 to KH2 there was a solid enough trilogy

Wheb you write as you go along and then want to make a game ore accessible to ppl you get the writing of kh3

Nomura writing KH3 was him coming to grips with the extreme difficulties of story telling

and KH2 to BBS, even recoded, it's not completely out of the blue

Where you struggle to balance explaining past events and tell a story ALL THE WHILE building up a sequel

The problem with KH3 is that it's an Avengers movie trying to be just Iron Man 2

not to mention making everything that happened in the past now connected to your future story

"Where are the other characters?"
"Eh, they're doing stuff"

Man. At least Nomura acknowledged that he did the minimum

makes me feel more justified

Honestly, I think the main problem is the lack of surprise when it came to the story beats

We knew pretty much everything going in to this game

I'm so bored with a lot of the non Disney cutscenes at the start of 3 because all they do is try and explain stuff. Its why the final battle didn't feel climatic to me.
