Well, yes.. The foundation was kh2, like how Kh2 built from 1.. makes sense to build off the last thing they did. And also what Liftea said.. Nomura was worried it felt too much exactly like KH2, but I think Yasue was it? Said that it's fine if they change it up and the like

I think the point of them changing it was because they wanted it to be different
