She did serve her purpose in 358, being a driving force for Roxas to leave the Organization besides to find out why he was having dreams of Sora, and I guess Otti felt that she didn't have one beyond that until the pain resolve issue came up.

No really, however, Xion within the context of Days comes to terms with being a sham, and though almost everyone around her devalued her very existence, with Saix essentially emotionally abusing her, she still managed to rage against what her superiors had planned for her, and made her own way. Xions character arc was all about coming to terms with her existence and it was masterfully done. So while Otti is correct in how she was created, the end result is something much more.

Also, I agree on what Quid typed up about 0.2 giving Aqua a grander purpose than just being an errand girl to spy on her friends while claiming that friendship was her motive since her motives change after she is plunged into darkness and has to fight her own demons and make her way to those important to her again.

If you haven't already watched the analysis, I recommend you do since it hits many point on the head despite the account being cynical.
