like ff is clearly has a role, but they seem to prefer the cheeky reference here and there, and dont really want the crossover aspect as part of the game

Sadly, the FF aspect was still mostly absent

I can also think of development complications and just not enough time

It could also be that Nomura wants to start going original route rather than crossover route

Just a thought

but nomura admits the only character they actually built a model for in KH3 was Squall and it wasnt even finished before it was cut

I wouldn't mind the series dropping the FF characters and going the original route if we had got a chance to tell them goodbye and close their arcs
