Him looking over the novel writers could mean literally anything. He could have just shoved the general idea to a writer and they do the rest. We have zero info on how these novels are made

I feel like Nomura will change a lot of things he says in interviews anyways, so back to that point I do feel that sometimes I will 50/50 what he says there because he changes his ideas a lot.

You can't make a theory about Vanitas being a good guy in the next KH game because he was abused. That story is only in the novels. So unless the next KH game says he was, it can't be a thing at all

This is just a hypothetical, not meaning it will happen

And like I said, BbS novels go into Vanitas' backstory.. It seems kinda disingenious to ignore it out of some dislike for scattered info(which yes.. that's a problem due to the years of multiple platforms)

Okay I don't mean to be harsh towards KH3 but I think dunkey made a lot of good points

I was just adding to what's in the game, but even without the novel

VAnitas isn't explicitly saying "I am darness" just cause.. He states outright why he feels that way

And like I said, none of the abusive side was ever shown or said in KH3 either. So at the end of the day that backstory in the novels is null and void for KH3
