Because Riku and Sora made it to the shores in the RoD after walking through the Realm In Between

Washed up on shore walked towards a strange light, realm of nothiness

The dark margin is a meeting point between all the realms

Where an abyss of darkness separates them

I hope they will show more cutscenes with keyblade transformations in the future. But unfortunately animating them takes a lot of time
