I still hate that the crew couldnt call it summoning because disney was like "you cant call them summons because reasons"

Yeah that was silly

Though the replacement does kind of feel more creative to me?

I liked how it changed them up, but I do think disney is gate-keeping way too much

I understand being protective of the characters, but square has always treated them well and they have always been doing things in-character for them, they need to chill

Like it bothers me even more that they didnt even get back va's like simba, stitch, ariel, and didnt even try to get the voice of ralph

when in literally every other game the summons all spoke

I was honestly shooting for Riku to be a sacrificial lamb of sorts in this game. Getting killed by Xehanort for good, because think about it. Riku would've been way more impactful, to lose Riku in some sort of last ditch effort to save Sora, would show how their friendship had gotten so much stronger, Riku already took a lot of hits for Sora in KH2 imagine him dying to save him on top of all of it.

But like I thought it made sense considering how in kh DDD he is the only factor that doesn't play into Xehanorts plan. He's a large oversight. Riku doesn't even have much of an impact in KH3 which makes his entire arc making him more powerful than Sora in ddd all the more pointless. Like what did Riku contribute to in the end of this game. He didn't really help stop Xehanort and he needed Sora's help for pretty much everything he did in the game.

At least they got more creative with it. Links is basically like D-Links from BBS, except this time it's more of a summon function than just getting moves. Concept is still the same where their heart connects with yours and they help out.
