We got Xemnas and Ansem but they didn't talk to each other as such, they talked to Xigbar a bit and talked in unison

but in all honesty there were 3 points in the story the villains could've killed sora and walk away because the plot needs to happen

Just one of those things I guess, you have to allow some wiggle room for the plot

yeah, but at the same time, they werent holding back for a reason KH1 or 2, but in 3 they have no actual story reason to not kill sora
