I always got the feeling that young xehanort learned from his older self and in the process wouldve betrayed his older self and taken the X-blade for himself

See, that doesn't make sense with the time travel rule

Anything he learns he forgets when going back

Yeah

The irony of YX is he believed that the old man won and went back in time with that mindset but the reality is he loses

well as he said "he forgot everything, but will have a subconsious feeling towards his affinity for darkness"

And he has no idea on what happens

It's been established that memories don't really "leave", but they leave an imprint on your heart.. since like CoM, and DDD used that again in regardsto timetravel

I always thought that when they get sent to the future they instantly regain the memories they have of their time in the future

Well yeah, his path is laid out

YX goes back in time and does everything the old man did

And then loses

But what I always kinda got the feeling of was that Young Xehanort was superior to his older self, but simply followed him because he was considered the leader, but with all the others out of the way, I thought Young Xehanort would kill old man Xehanort to take the X-blade for himself

He's just a dick

And there's nothing I find interesting about him

I'd prefer more focus on other characters

Like, Ven for example

He wasn't really superior tho. He's just a cocky ass because he's young

But now Ven is stuck in UX

look at the mysterious figure boss fight in BBS

yeha.. it's clear that Xehanort is stronger than YX, admittedly

at least from experience

Ansem could have just done the time travel stuff himself in DDD

What would YX really accomplish by backstabbing his old self? All it would really do is that his time runs out and he goes back in time again.
