Assuming things is universe are things we shouldn't do, how do we know that Kairi knows it would be pointless?

That aside, the alternative is to just stand around doing nothing? So doing nothing is a better alternative than trying and failing?

To be honest, people who were actually dunking on Kairi as a character were plain wrong

You can argue that she couldn't have fought against Xemnas, that it was an inevitable outcome, that she was unprepared and all that. The thing is, even if that makes sense, it is Nomura's fault as a writer to once again waste all the hype and promise he went out of his way to give her for the purpose of using her as another cheap plot device by means of fridge-ing and damselling her.

What the firetruck

In the Heartless tornado cutscene she stood in place doing firetruck all and Sora hugged her out of nowhere.

She did get some hits against those but that was in gameplay only, in the cutscene the characters just stand around talking and suddenly Xemnas surprises her and kidnaps her

This "self-damseling" thing is just wrong

Though in this circumstance I think the cutscene x gameplay divide isn't so important

Like, my problem is not with how the plot events are executed, my problem is that they happen at all

I don't care how justified Kairi getting kidnapped is, the fact that she was kidnapped again is what bothers me

So many other possible directions to take her character and they had to go for the most hacky, overused trope when it comes to female characters
