My problem is that I can't get out of hindsight mode despite trying my best to

I mean, it was a good one sure, but by your definitions this one is just as forced as the other "emotional" moments that you talked about earlier

Indeed hindsight does weaken a lot of the scenes that you know go nowhere

I watch that cutscene all I can think about is the hilarious way their reunion is handled

I try to divorce myself from hindsight, but I can't with KH3 because it's everywhere

I don't mind their reunion scene, I just mind that that's all there is
