ResetEra literally had a rage attack because they didn't like the icon of Last of Us 2 when all it said was "Last of Us 2"

They are the worst

Neogaf died so they could take over

Sides are just a firetrucked up concept anyway. Discussions are multifaceted with a near infinite number of possible sides but people love to think of sides as just two.

I guess that's why I think I said before people are just incredibly tribal about things especially when it comes to video games like Jesus Christ

And a lot of other stuff I suppose

Being passionate is good. I wish I was more passionate about the things I like.

You can be passionate without being a jerk, which is what many people fail to understand.

There's a fine line and I feel like I'm terrible at explaining it in words but there's a difference between being passionate and then screaming at other people for not liking your favorite story

there is a difference between being passionate and forcing those passions upon someone else and flaming them for not following the same passions to the same degree that you do

Naturally

Like the guy at the ff7 game FAQ who is pissed that there's lots of people playing this who don't care to play the OG

or purists of a series who think the old games are 10X better than anything new that comes out

But one is not a fair response to the other, and I really dislike it when the response to someone being an annoying dummy shoving their views down someone else's throat is "you care too much" when it should be "you are showing your well-justified care in an unhealthy way"

Is it better to have debates than arguments is the best way I can put

Basically I despise the "you care too much" line of thinking, as if someone can have the authority to decide how much someone else is allowed to care about something

Also slightly related why do people view a 7 out of 10 as terrible

people treat a 7 like it's a five

anything below a 7 means it's not worth the light of day
which isn't always the case

Which is why rotten tomatoes is so horrible

People think a 70% means it's bad when it just means that 70% out of so many reviewers liked that movie

a lot of the issue I see is that sometimes there’s people who don’t let others have their opinion and leaving them be with that opinion.
Like. Sometimes people act like there always HAS to be an argument.

It’s like sometimes people can’t say “I like (blank)” or “I don’t like (blank) without someone else trying to tell them they’re wrong for thinking that way.

I think I look at reviews a little backwards I only look at them for stuff that I really enjoyed and to see others thoughts and opinions on the thing that I like
