Dmc4 was a bit empty to me but certainly not Dmc5

Also everyone has their opinions but I found myself to be completely satisfied by dmcv. Story wise i think it settled what had to be, and the gameplay is frigging cool. Kh3 on the other hand was more messy, and left me a bit frustrated, but I won’t develop here.

DMC would not work better without a story. Its kind of undermining a piece of work when you break it down into something simple like 'look at me I'm cool and then something emotional happens.'. I could do something similar with kingdom hearts games. Stories don't always serve the same purpose and some aren't as serious as others.
