Nintendo kind of has tried going away from being just about ppls childhoods. That was a mistake the Wii U did with its advertising.

Frankly, I have a lot of things that piss me off about nintendo when it comes to actually delivering services and I dont find ppl are shy to come down on it for it but you also cant deny that they produce a lot of quality game content so a lot of the time they manage to hide behind those. You also have the whole thing with Nintendo games being on Nintendo consoles so ppl can complain but they also have to basically enter a love hate relationship for the things they love.

You can quit attempting to make something out of nothing (like that mountain out of a molehill phrase you mentioned). It's not always the case and they weren't defending/condoning the gachas nor attacking people that like the games, but people are free to buy into add-ons. Also, she mentioned repeatedly (and in a non-joking matter) about not wanting to be referred to as that nickname by those that didn't know her closely on the forums from back then.
