Remember when Rian Johnson went out of his way to ask the supposed "lore experts" at Disney if the lightspeed ram scene broke the in-universe rules, and they said "nah, it doesn't"

It's not so much "lore experts" at disney, as it is a group of people that basically settle on and decide the canon since like... the 90s, I think? Sometime before the prequel trilogy, at least, and they were a thing apparently George Lucas made so that he has ideas and a general way to keep track of things.. yes this includes anyhing and everything from the EU to the games to the shows, etc @Estoria#4001

Good on George though, it's pretty cool of him to try to keep his lore and rules in check

They're basically the ones who pitch most of the ideas and the writers go with it or it's saved for the future

but mainly, they like.. keep it together
