Well right.. the thing about constructive versus negative criticism, is that the former is intented to help someone improve something and build them up... The latter, specifically, is about discrediting, demeaning, insulting or harming someone's rep or work @Estoria#4001

Well, now this is semantics

Can there be criticism that focus on the flaws of something that doesn't delve into the negative aspects you are describing?

Do you classify it as constructive?

Yeah, i think you're assuming constructive means it has to be as well said as possible and that it means only looking at good parts

Like, if I criticize something accurately and with arguments and references show that it is bad or just flawed, but then I offer no ways of how it could be improved, I simply show it as flawed

What kind of criticism is that in your eyes

I make no ad hominem or insults

No stupid "lol Nomura is a hack" or whatever bullshit

Just a laser focus categorical deconstruction of something

Then its just constructive criticism. Pointinig out the flaws of something is no destructive, and yes, most of the time constructive criticisms are about lending improvement...

It's stll constructive to breakdown way something is flawed, even if you don't offer a way of "this is how to be better"

Like, here's an example...

An artist, right?

Well, then we have arrived at our agreement

Because I agree with that 100%

you can not be an artist, and while you can break down why their art may not be up to snuff, anatomy, etc..

it doesn't mean you likely know how to improve, just criticize what you noticed seems off

Yeah

I think it's much easier to show how something doesn't work than to show how something works

Because something that doesn't work sticks out while something that works is just there, working

but the thing is... even if you're only specifically just stating why something doens't work.. that's still intenting to build something up

Because even without you offering someway to immprove..

you laid out why it doesn't work

And that's still impportant
