I don't know the specifics of that one story but the povs here are highly polarized

What I know however is that police abuse and murders based on racial profiling are a real thing here

That the "police of the police" is just the same bunch of people who wouldn't be even slightly ashamed of destructing evidence or turning a story in their favor

Overall, even if as individuals there are probably a lot of police officers who are good people, the institution as a whole is highly problematic even here.
