Dude left the role cause he felt like he was straight up dying, he probably took this one cause it's a small role in the movie and most likely a last hurrah for him

Well, he was going through a divorce, the movie he directed at the time tanked and he was an alcoholic during that time too

If the leaks are true, then the only reason he comes back is to make sure he cant after this

since he is rumored to die in the film
