@Estopim A lot of Lightning's characterization, it's mostly done by way of the flashbacks, and as you progress furhter in the game, you can see there's more to her charaacter, and infact, her whole act is actually an "act".

She puts on this tough, dull and serious front because she outright misunderstood her own mother on their deathbed

She believes in her independence far too greatly,a nd thus, believes it's a "weakness" to rely on others. This changes over the course of the game and she gladly accepts the others as her comrades and more important for, say, Snow, as family.

I think someone did a good analysis on her too, about potentially being ASD? It was a good read, I could DM it if you're interested(If you have time for that, anyway)
