I guess you have to careful with power levels because if you start having lots of characters doing pretty op stuff then it will just get harder and harder to work in a villain or antagonist that will feel believably unstoppable or powerful. Like Thanos was supposed to be one of the strongest. That and it would probably become tiresome.
