Well cause of both actually. Marth's popularity in Melee brought the attention to it. Awakening went on to be popular but before melee most of the west paid no heed of the franchise.

And others complain that the game is more story/character driven this time which.. the lack of character relevancy and importance is what hurt prior FE stories always
