but Luxu and Darkness could be in the real one, overseeing what is going on on the computer

Maybe they need to take a data pod to return the real world and then the pod in the real DT.

AFAIAC, the pods are mere replicas and don't function separately from the real pods but can connect to them like how Sora's memory pod had an access point visible in data Twilight Town for Roxas to automatically transfer to Sora in the real world in KH2.
