I didn’t struggle with Xehanort that much tbh but like he at least puts up a good fight in each phase

I tried fighting dark inferno in critical with no Ultima, all he stat boosts I could find, and went in at level 47, was this a good idea or nah

Just do what I did and spam Classic tones shotlock w refocuses

Maybe I'm too hard on this subreddit

but ddd is better

I'm not a fan of the Disney worlds and the level design, and as a casual fan, that's the only reason I put 3 above this game

The only revisited worlds in 2 I like are hollow bastion/radiant garden and halloween town

I love 2 but it's certainly not number 1 for me. Maybe 3rd or 4th favorite

The world design and disney worlds in it just really bring it down for me

The combat is too groundy

Just going through 2's worlds tends to bore me honestly is my biggest issue I think

Despite my circlejerkiness over KH2, I've always said that I could easily understand why a casual fan would prefer KH3

2 I probably have the most memories of playing though, next to 1

As a kid, 2 was far more welcoming than 1 was

I remember when I was finally allowed to play Kingdom Hearts 2 I got all the way up to the pride lands the first night

Oh yeah 1 had more puzzles and awful platforming

2 just has no exploration at all except for what final mix added. That really kills it for me.

They heard about the criticisms about platforming and stuff instead of improving it they just removed it

I think that decision reshaped the series' identity

BBS kinda remedied that, and DDD really improved upon it thankfully

Makes replays far more enjoyable than just going in straight lines

That decision probably shaped Kingdom Hearts 2 as to why it is so liked among the action gameplay crowd

I have always felt that KH2's combat is so good that the lack of platforming didn't matter to me

That first set of worlds till 1K heartless is a real slow burn when you go back

It also helps that the visual aesthetics of the worlds are often really good
