A Vanitas story would maybe be about him trying to figure out why he exists, and where he actually came from if not Ventus’ heart.

Vanitas would not try to find Sora, he’d try to find a light or equal strength to become whole.

Which is why I don’t think he’d be a great MC. Vanitas, if we were to flesh him out, would be better off as a party member because he’d be stuck with us.

I mean, maybe he would try to find Sora, but i wouldn’t think so because he’s technically still there.

If anything, he’s either:
A.) be content to stay because there’s no longer a reason to exist outside of the Heart, since the X-Blade is formed or
B.) try to get out and become whole and not be in pain, and try to get rid of the Unversed.

Vanitas, also, would not be a great MC because he’s an asshole. Asshole characters, unless they’re done right, are not great protagonists because they can come off as mean and undeserving of their friend’s friendship, which causes us, the audience, to not deal with someone who is an asshole to the people around them for no reason.

Also, some of the best character building moments are quips and genuinely solid and well thought out conversations between two characters.

It wouldn’t work in KH, but a story where Ven and Van were required to work together towards some goal has potential

I like the idea in concept, but they hate each other too much.

Yeah, hence why I said it wouldn’t work in actual KH

Better to split Van from Ven and have him do his own thing

Which is why I’m holding onto the idea Vanitas will team up with Sora in 4 as a party member, like FFXV or Riku in 2.

Characters like Sora are great because they drag introverts and anti-social characters out of their shells while they’re kicking and screaming.

I think I’ve thought about this too much.

Not really, we’ve got nothing better to do until Square gives us more to work with. Which probably won’t be until E3 next year

They should have made renders and artwork for Melody of Memory of the KH cast singing and playing on different instruments, like imagine Sora holding a microphone up in the air and Kairi playing a piano!

Xion is a replica created at some point between Sora’s arrival at Castle Oblivion and Vexen’s death. Vexen used the memories Sora was losing in CO to give her life which is what created the connection between the two of them.

I mean, I know that. But I like to think of her being a Kairi rather than Sora
