I’m starting to connect dots.

So if Vanitas isn’t the darkness in Ven’s heart, and he’s not a manifestation of the capital-D Darkness trapped within Ven, what is he?

Both.

I think he was, originally, the darkness in Ventus’s heart. But after Ventus was possessed by the Darkness, a portion of it remained trapped inside him and made Vanitas sentient.

Come to think about it, there’s like 3 different worlds in KH I would like to see replace Orlando’s Haunted Mansion (I was already please that the rumor of Coco replacing that is debunked). The ones I picked are Hollow Bastion, The World That Never Was, and Castle Oblivion
