Because of my nostalgia, my very first experience. The way how they handle the Disney stuff (worlds and bosses), voice acting, the pacing, and so much more

Mine? Hmm let's see. kh1: 7/10. re:com: 7/10 kh2: 10/10. bbs 9/10. recoded i haven't played. ddd: 7,5/10. 0.2 8/10. kh 9.5/10. melody of memory i haven't playaed. UX: 10/10 for story, gameplay 2/10. Dark road, probably the same. A bit better gameplay though

Sorry for not making the message easier to read

You forgot days

Kingdom Hearts 1: 8/10, has the most solid story, has atmosphere and themeing that's unique to it, rad sound design, and there's so many ways to play it. It's the only one where I feel like you can play with different tactics and builds- you play BBS; what's everyone gonna have? Thundersurges and cure, you play KH2 everyone is gonna be Pumpkin King and Ultima Weapon with Aeiral Finish and Explosion, spamming reflect, and 3, I mean shit, you get to a point you can just L1 Triangle Thunder one-shot everything, doesn't even matter, but, everyone is gonna just be Ultima Weapon with Oblivion and Oath Keeper on backup.

Chain of Memories Gameboy: 7/10, it's tone is dark as firetruck, and, a little more than the remake of it, it maintains a claustrophobic and suspenseful atmosphere; more effective on release when we were waiting for KH2, found the card system fun, and engaging, but repetitive if you're a completionist or trying for specific decks.

Kingdom Hearts 2: 9/10, it's plot twists were executed well, and the angrier, more sarcastic Sora it portrayed, to me, is still the definitive outing for his character. Tone and style were consistent, and has some of the best boss battles even to this day- my one gripe is the power creep as listed above- game gets to easy, to the point whenever I replay I go out of my way to not use the OP Keyblades, or Explosion and Aerial Finish.

358: another 8 out of 10, the days trio is my favorite, and, the game is BuzzLight-years better than watching it as a movie like Jesus Christ dude- the customization was badass, and it had a gripping, powerful story.

Birth By Sleep: 8/10, yeah yeah it get it floaty combat but the story is pretty good, it's recontexualizings are good for the plot, and, much like say a Yakuza 0, to me, its what a prequel should be. It sheds light, but stands on its own. Mickey was great in this game, this is the first game where we were cluded in to keep an eye on Xigbar, Vanitas is a great everything, its just solid.

Re:Coded/Coded: 6/10, yes the story is inconsequential and doesn't matter, and yes the only important than is the Book of Prohecies scene added in 2.5 but firetruck you this game is fun as shit to play- I loved how every world had a different play style, gave us another Pete fight (like Days I believe), the customization was arguably even better than Days for how you can build Sora, and special shout out to one of hands down the coolest shit the series ever did, let Sora fight side by side with Cloud and Hercules in turn based combat are you kidding me that's so sick.

Dream Drop Distance: 7/10, I rag on this game a lot and yes 2.8 fixes it, but, I never really liked Flowmotion, and, I'm not a huge fan of the plot twists. Not the time travel, oh no, I actually think KH has good time travel mechanics it just is at its worst only in this game, but the gradual re-birthings of all the villains, Lea (as cool as it was), and the whole "Nobodies could totally grow more hearts tee-hee" thing I found unnecessary or fanservice. The one on one with Xemnas, 3 stage Ansem fight, and the Julius secret boss are pretty rad tho.

Union Cross and Dark Road; I'm gonna group these up as also being 8/10, because yes, them being stories told over a decade with phone games sucks ok, but as solid units, these two games weave one of the best stories in this games history. The intrigue, the mystery on MoM, the stakes, people getting murdered, it's so good. Would love an animated retelling or remake.

0.2: 7/10, honestly I wish this is what they would do going forward. Have little DLC chunks come out, so you can give more playable characters and also experiment more with game play ideas. I would uncritically love a KH season pass lol. Other than some graphical issues and Critical being unfun as firetruck this is a solid experience.

Kingdom Hearts 3: 7/10 on release, 9/10 with ReMind. On its own, it's fine, and I'm OK with being fine. This games true flaw lies in it being announced years too early, too many trailers, and no proper communication. The other is, yes, it makes sense with Dark Road, but I hated how they wanted me to feel bad for Xehanort. If you want to say "oh I always liked Xehanort lol" it's cause you're a contrarian; there was no sympathetic traits shown, or given- so the fact they went "well intentioned extremist" with him was bullshit. That being said, after remind, it set things up promising an interesting future, and has, imo, the best game play to date. The Limit Cut bosses were fantastic, and it had some of the best Disney world level design in years.

Melody of Memory: 6/10, it's there.

Xehanort conquered the Lands of Departure.

An edit I thought would be cool to show off

Ah yes, the Nort Court (YX being replaced by his old future self)

Here's my Organization
KINGDOM_HEARTS_III_20230325231944_copy.jpg

There's only 12 members, there won't be a 13th member

To go in order;
1. Ansem (Leader)
2. Xemnas
3. Xigbar
4. Luxord
5. Marluxia
6. Larxene
7. Demyx
8. Terra-Xehanort (Replica)
9. Anti-Aqua (Replica)
10. Dark Riku (Replica)
11. Vanitas
12. Young Xehanort

Aw, the Organization has a family photo.

I like the moogle one, good idea 👍

Solid recap of the series

I actually want to play coded and days again. I only completed them once on release so I’ve forgotten it all

Probably watching everglow’s timeline is nicer for the days cutscenes

It has been fixed. Thanks!

the only barrier between me and bbs plat now is 14 command board games! ugh

I see we are all playing BBS today for some reason xD
