So...uh...I'm torn on whether I find the Days/COM arc to be the best or worst narrative arc in the series. On one hand, we have Roxas Axel Xion and the super interesting dynamic shared between them and the rest of O13. Not to mention the fact that Xion's "death" is one of the most tragic in the series.

On the other hand...this is pretty much just a filler arc that adds nothing to the story that wouldn't have happened otherwise had this arc not existed. I mean, I guess it clarifies Axel's motive but KH2 explained it pretty well imo.

From the perspective of Sora's journey, yeah it doesn't do a whole lot

In the respect of all the characters and all the connections of them? Yeah they do a lot

I guess it comes down to how you view them in the end

Personally, while they are incredibly written I do agree they aren't anything more than filler and extra context
