You shouldn't be worried. If Disney was having major problems with the IP, then they wouldn't have let Nomura expand the story to where it is at this point.

At the same time I do see the concern of KH3 worlds and summons and how they were awkwardly treated

due to the insane copyright stuff that that company has

The only ones that had that were Frozen and Tangled, but only because those were the bigger ones plus KH3 was basically built for old and new players alike

Tbh I could actually care less what goes on in the Disney worlds so long as we actually get a respectable amount of content that takes place in the original worlds, which for a game that is ending an entire goddamn saga, 3 should’ve had more of. Now sure there’s a load of cutscenes in between worlds where we see that stuff is playing out in all sorts of places but if all we’re doing is observing most of the story and participating in pretty much none of it until the ending, doesn’t that just leave a lot to be desired? It’s somewhat of a trend in the series I guess but I don’t see why it’s one that we accept so casually, 80% of a game should not be what can be easily be considered filler laughsinnomura

:azcsdPaingem:

Just hurts to have to read those words and know it’s true

Also dunno why, but it just made it dawn on me that the last new disney boss we had if we’re excluding Davey Jones was Rinzler

You could prolly count something from WiR in UX for all I know but hey I’m not gonna laughsinnomura

Honestly after a few playthroughs KH3 I'd honestly rank it up higher. Idk if I'd give it a place above BBS just yet, but it's close

DDD still tops out at the worst I can take it.

COULDN’T! COULDN’T CARE LESS

IF YOU’RE SAYING YOU COULD CARE LESS, IT IS EXTREMELY BLATANT THAT YOU ARE INDEED, IN FACT SAYING YOU DO CARE

Originally KH was expected to be a trainwreck IP to Nomura, but instead turned out to be a hit, but yes Disney hold most of rights not entirely

It shouldn't be overlooked, certainly, but I feel it's not a major concern.

As for the Disney worlds themselves, I have mixed thoughts. On one hand, I felt that KH1 was a bit heavy-handed, and caused the villains to act out of character merely because it benefited the plot.

Captain Hook, for example, I don't think would be particularly interested in ruling the universe and neither would Oogie.

On the other hand, KH2 and 3 feel too loose. Sora is just kinda there. I think I prefer the BBS approach; where, while the Disney worlds are mostly there for character development, the protagonists are casually involved in the plot in a way that matters to them. Neverland is a great example. Terra didn't particularly care what Hook was up to but he got involved anyway because it aligned with his goals. That's a very natural way to implement him into the plot.

I feel the same but with DDD, I genuinely enjoy how the Disney worlds are done in them

It's not too loose but it keeps Sora and Riku involved just enough in what's going on in the world at that time

I was debating between using that or BBS as an example

Okay fair :MO_PepeHmm: though it’s practically a minigame

Nomura already had plans for a sequel back then, just all depended on sales. how most things go

Wait what about this pic says sequel lol

This storyboard is so detailed it could be a manga

True I'm pretty sure he and the team put effort into the project even he had early doubts it wasn't going to fly, but it paid off big and unexpectedly
