If FF15 had an anime (and that game had the most mixed reviews when it first came out), then surely KH should have one as well

It doesn't even need to be in 2D, stick with 3D since they already have the assets

Just make a show PLEEAASEE

I'm mixed on them making a show, cause, on one hand, that's another piece of context crucial media that the casuals can roast KH about and 2, Disney let's them have a decent amount freedom most of the time but, something tells me an animated medium is something they would want more say in.

Which isn't bad, potentionally, but, KH has been as successful as it has cause they usually just let Nomura take the wheel. Trying to creative control that guy never works out lol

Lmfao yeah true I guess

I also feel KH works better as a game for two reasons:

1) The story can more or less be taken at your own pace as you absorb the details.
2) The conflict and drama that goes on between characters comes off much stronger when you have to actually fight them yourself. KH1 Riku is a great example. It’s hard to emotionally distance yourself from him when the game is asking you to beat him down and you have no say in the matter.

And he beats the crap out of you making you rewatch a cutscene multiple times

Really builds the hostile emotions

💀

Truly we were annoyed at the no skip scene option

Which might actually be a legitimate design choice!

But that made the fight feel that much more decisive

maybe?
in most games of that era, having skippabIe cutscenes Ied to Iots of errors
exampIes incIude Crash Twinsanity and FF10 among a few others

so in order to work around them, they just kinda don't Iet you do that

l imagine most issues reIating to this are where the pIayer ends up spawning, so if you skip a cutscene you might not get teIeported because your pIayer character is stiII in that area

(which is what used to happen in Jak 1 when peopIe tried to mod it otherwise)

People talk a lot about choice mattering in interactive storytelling, but the lack of choice makes a difference too. It can make you feel trapped, resentful, or yes, even hostile. All valid emotions you might want the player to feel at some point.

l mean
l'm sure l both did and didn't wanna beat up riku

did because he was being an ass for a whiIe there
didn't because he wasn't Iike that before darkness

Oh I for sure wanted to beat the crap out of him

Yes! Emotional complexity! I’m here for it!

He pissed me off with his stupid pettiness LMFAO

Jealously, fine, but talk it out damn it!!!!

"While you're out playing and having fun-" like NO BISH....WE ARE STRUGGLING HERE ACTUALLY

Lmfaoooooooooo

He doesn’t know how. He’s only seen Sora’s irrepressible optimism and Kairi’s mediation.

And then you learn he was just fueled by guilt in a spin-off game instead of the sequel

Gawd I hate Riku in KH1, loved him in the end tho

Riku is a character I liked progressively more as the plot went on

Oh for sure

But to this day, he still pisses me off in 1 💀

I think he should. It’s good development.

I remember younger me being like "This guy needs to get slapped ASAP"

I don’t think I’d like Riku as much if I didn’t hate him at first

Yeah I love Riku post-KH1

I was thinking more with the non skippable cutscene but that also is valid lmaoooooo
