So when sora asked at the start of the game if anything was real or not...

The plot twists in this game should be straight up illegal

I mean, they won’t win fights for you, but they can be extremely I helpful. Mechanics like this are why I enjoy KH combat despite being more of a turn based person. If your reflexes are bad, you can’t react in time (I.e. me), or you’re just struggling in general, you can still win through smart planning and outwitting the enemy’s attack patterns.

From the perspective of KH, everything up until this point has taken place in reality. Yozora is from a place on the other side of the KH reality. The term “unreality” has been used to define it. Unreality is a place where both the forces of light and darkness have no claim. That changes with KH4.

Pretty much all we know about it came from a mobile game and a rhythm game because of course those would contain essential information

I mean, was anyone expecting them not to?

In fairness in the absolute grand scheme of things the information that uX and such contained is stuff that will be reiterated on

80% of uX pertains only to uX and it's surrounding games like DR and Missing Link. The stuff that carries through to the wider franchise is stuff that none of the characters are actually that aware of

MoM's plan will need to be re-revealed and recontextualised, what Unreality is we will learn about as Sora

 

Even stuff like Strelitzia's death will have to be covered, cause she will no doubt tell Sora what happened, which causes issues especially if she believes that Ventus was the sole cause. Cause there's direct conflict there via Sora

I will forever be in the camp that the mobile game isn't that* important to the franchise, *especially from a newcomer perspective. Even KH3's references to it were mainly only to Back Cover, the most accessible part of the uX Family of titles

While it's helpful for the likes of context and stuff, that's from a meta-perspective. The characters in-universe still need to learn this information, and that's how it will be told to the audience (in a more interesting format)

 

I’m sure she’ll know that Ventus is innocent and he was manipulated by darkness (whether it’s Dark Inferno X or Vanitas)

 

She might’ve not even got a good look at Ventus, just knew it was another kid there

The Wayfinder Trio’s already been through so much, and Ven’s still got Darkness chilling in his heart as is

If a goal of this new arc is to eradicate the original 13 Darknesses then Ven’s gonna have a bad time with that alone.

I kinda feel the Darkness in Ven has went through some weird ass character development

It like, seemed content to stay in Ventus even if it could potentially escape via Re:Mind Sora

And when it was detatched from Ventus, Ventus nearly died and the resulting Vanitas was unstable suicidal psychopath

Whereas I think the Darknesses in the Foretellers will just be trapped in a traditional sense, but the one in Ventus seems fused

Would make sense, Ventus’ heart has been through the wringer

Xehanort, Vanitas, Sora. Thing’s constantly being tampered with.

I cannot listen to a song from Miyu Irino (Sora’s Japanese voice actor but also makes their own music) without hearing Japanese Sora singing it

Wasn’t the Darkness in Ventus’s heart defeated when Sora fought Dark Inferno or was that some thing else?

I don’t think we have any official confirmation of anything involving dark inferno X. hopefully it gets answered eventually, though cuz that whole interaction between it and Sora was interesting.

Sora was just fighting some kind of manifestation/illusion. Pretty sure the only way to destroy one of the Darknesses is to kill the person hosting it.

That seems to be part of MoM’s plan. Trap the 13 in strong hearts they couldn’t escape from, so when those people perish so do the Darknesses.
