Yeah it’s not hard, at least not anymore

That’s basically what I did. I got into the series right after 3 came out. All the hype surrounding the release got me intrigued so I got the HD collections in a bundle (All in One wasn’t a thing yet) and marathoned the whole series

My other common advice is “Skip Days and COM if you’re not feeling up to it. They’re not super important.”

Besides, Days comes in movie format on the compilation discs.

Watching cutscenes is a better substitute than reading/watching a summary

Starting with KH2 I think we can all agree, and maybe BBS are THE exceptions lol

Otherwise, just go release order

KH2 and BBS are major plot points. Starting with then is acceptable.

KH2 explains part 1 well. And com well, Sora doesn't even remember so it's fine lol

And before Chi BBS was the prequel, so, it was fine. Still works as a good starting point imo

Point is, KH is extremely accessible now, and on multiple platforms.

It even made the jump to PC.

And I think that's a beautiful thing.

More people should be able to experience it.

If you’re buying the collections individually I’d always recommend starting with just 1.5+2.5. If after completing every game in the collection you then want to go play 2.8, you’re probably so hooked already that you won’t care about the price

I agree with 6, 5, and 1. The others are odd but not exactly bad. Riku and Namine i just can’t see. There isn’t a lot of chemistry between them.
