Hey everyone I’m just curious if anybody has heard about square enix apparently not doing too great with recent releases. Idk why but it gets me worried about the KH series for some reason.

Well they had a couple blunders and mishaps recently this is true.

But I wouldn't be too worried- they're a huge company, their reach goes beyond gaming as well. They'll be ok, they just need to have a string of sick releases- and with us getting the triple combo of FF16, 7R2, and KH4 at some point, they'll be fine.

When square says they didn't do well with recent releases, they mean that it didn't do astronomically well but games Have been selling well generally

A lot of what you've probably heard is fear-mongering. SE has had it rough with releases like Avengers, or Babylon's Fall (Though they weren't developed by SE). The major thing is that FFXVI did really well, but it didn't do enough to win over shareholders after stuff like Babylon's Fall or Forspoken

SE is still doing completely fine

and yeah their lineup of ff16, 7r2, kh4, and dq12 in the next few years is already looking to be good for them financially. any time they say they're in trouble lately it's because of other endeavors they've taken aka nfts...

One of the best in the genre in fact. Critically acclaimed and sells like wildfire. KH would be the last series they cut.
