has anyone here played the critical mix mod for kh1 on PC?

I haven't played kh1 in a while but I'm not sure what's gonna give me a better, more challenging but fair experience:

the mod that ties guard/scan/second-chance to story progression instead of level (basically a buffed level 1 playthrough)

or the critical mix mod which is gonna drastically overhaul the gameplay and maybe make it even easier
