Off topic a little, but something about KH1 that I loved and miss with modern titles is the sense of mystery and dread

Like how everyone keeps mentioning "the shadows" (The Heartless)

It tells you the fear and danger that the world around you is going through and gives you a rush of urgency to save them.

That's very true

Even though the worlds are rather empty, it kinda works to its advantage at the same time with how close the heartless are to devouring them

And yeah, EVERYONE loves to tease older KH games for the empty worlds and lack of NPCs, but KH1 is where it WORKS

The Heartless are invading each world one by one and killing everyone until they eventually kill the heart of the world

Yeah, we're on the same page ahaha

Haha, the more one thinks about it the more disturbing it gets

Especially considering all the worlds that didn't survive until being restored. The remains of them in End of the World are testament to that
