So far my favorite parts of re:mind are the playable characters, explorable Scala, the Guardians of Light vs Xehanort and the Story adding more to the original plot making it feel more complete.

  • guys, nomura said the remind art hints towards another game KAIRI GAME? PLEASE HHHHH

My view on this matter is the same view I have when it comes to Kairi

You can justify how it happened in-universe all you want, my problem is that it happened at all to begin with

They did have a big impact

Remember that San Fran cutscene where Sora sees HPO when looking at the BH6 squad

Yes

olettesmug

Sora looks at Fred and sees DiZ seasalt_shinji

But really, the plot tells us that HPO are important to Roxas

If the text actually supports that, that's debatable

In fact Roxas doesn't really have time to show affection to them since Nomura decided to write a 3 minute long dialogueless disjointed final cutscene instead of an actual ending smugxemnas

hadesthink

Because they needed to be there

Daisy wasn't there though, now that's a real crime

quack

That doesn't excuse any of the disjointed scenes that happen after

It's the 3D syndrome of forgetting the plot points in order to move the story along

I can buy the Seasalt trio forgiving Isa no problem, I just want to see it happening

Don't immediately jump from Saïx being defeated to him eating seasalt ice cream on the Clock Tower

Now take that and apply to everything else

Like, come on, this is an RPG, do you really want to close off your first major saga with a single cutscene without dialogue and things just happening.

Remember Naminé

Do you realize that we actually had NO lines from her after she was brought back

I'm sure some people in the dev team get upset

In fact I'd venture to say there are people in the team that have similar views to us

There's at least one person in the team mumbling "goddamnit, I was expecting my favorite characters to interact with one another, not for Nomura to suddenly turn his series into a Versus 13 playground for him to play in"

Honestly Walrus

Although at first I appreciated the scene I got slightly worried about how much I was not caring

Because it felt like we went from A to Z and skipped 24 letters

Like, it was the ending I wanted, everyone being happy together

But the way it happened just made it not land for me

It was like getting to the end and skipping a part of the journey

It dramatically lessens the impact

Oh, of course

Dialogueless cutscenes definitely have their place

And can be an amazing design choice when used appropriately

I.e. when not used as the single concluding cutscene to a story saga that lasted 10 games and 17 years

xionsmug

Wouldn't be opposed to it tbh

In fact it would be very amazing

I meant to type amusing there but amazing fits too

laughsinnomura

"Be glad the game come out to begin with, baka"

I didn't even order the buffet, the buffet was basically common decency

Like, you promised an ending, so I was expecting a full fledged final segment with characters interacting, maybe reflecting on the journey, and overall interacting amongst themselves as a way to cap off the saga

Instead I got the bare minimum

I was expecting a buffet and only got a piece of bread

It's doesn't taste particularly bad but it sure as hell doesn't compare to the meal I could be eating instead.

lmao

That part was so weird

I honestly had no idea what was happening

A confusing ending, everything I wanted from KH3 smugxemnas

Gotta move on, gotta move on

Go go go go go

At least Remind gave us what we wanted

Mostly

Mostly

It was nice seeing Riku and Terra interacting even if their dialogue was nonsense

Terra be like "good one bro, I'm going to laugh now"

laughs

It was also very cool to see the FF characters again

In a way it was great because our main complaint was characters not interacting, and since the FF characters are contractually bound to not move the plot forward, all they can do is interact.

:bigbrain:

Naminé still has no lines after she was brought back btw laughsinnomura

People gawking at Nomura for using 13 symbolism

xionsmug

Can't wait for someone to make a theory about this
