what's unfortunate about this situation is that this might encourage social media sites to completely get rid of anonymity and countries outright banning VPNs

these reveals that happened are just too big to ignore

it's other countries genuinely trying to manipulate and interfere in politics of other countries

UK testing the waters with Digital IDs and needing to verify your identity to look at 18+ sites

B/c they want to push higher age verification, which requires some identification, but many people are going to be iffy on that since they aren't going to want the government to know they are on the site; especially since much of the uploaded data gets compromised to be leaked.
