I got so done with AC when I heard that they killed off the main antagonist that transcends the entire timeline in a comic

Based on the mythical island/city

always fun to introduce that series to someone new. different reactions every time they see the name

Watch me brute force my way through the game and and glitch my way to the final boss.

Secret of Mana has that feel too

It always happens, but I find a way to glitch games on my first run through.

I don’t know how I do it either.

As far as final fantasy's go I think X did Turn Based the best.

I'm fine with that- each game should be different. I hope to see it return one day though.

I mean, turn based can still happen with games like dragon quests and spin off titles like world of ff @Limen @-Kye-

never said it couldn't?

i never even disagreed with the FF change

literally just wanted to talk about turn based vs action as a whole lmao

its fine to have turn based but the reason why square is going Action with there games now (except their smaller stuff) is just now these days (from a world view not just japan) many dont want to play something slow and not flashy i guess. also isnt Dragon quest doing action now with the next one too?

I feel like people look down on turn based games; like they're a boring relic of the past

?
there hasn’t been a turn based mainIine FF game since FF13, even FF7R’s turn-based mode is more Iike a mod than an actuaI gamepIay styIe

That's wrong. 13 was still turn based same with 12. also ff7R's classic mode wasn't turn based it's atb with some arpg. The whole non turn based style begun with DoC (action shooter with beat them up) and didn't happen again till ffxv was arpg and from that point on FF7R and 16 became arpg with some atb thrown in. to appease turn based fans. That doesn't mean turn based is going away. It's still prevalent in dragon quest games and future spin offs like World of Final Fantasy.

oh l shouId’ve cIarified that yes 13’s a turn based one

l meant after 13

It just seem like they just wanna approach future mainline ff games like a arpg title cause of KH games since each title got successful and improving. Hell even Yoshi praised the KH team cause of that and had some of them help out with 16 a little.

yeeeeeees

i have no problem with that cause i love arpg games and this defintely would get me to buy more ff titles

I have no issue with this personally, I actually think it's kind of clever of them to try out new approaches. And as you said turn based hasn't completely died out, as far as I can tell with whatever approach they choose to do, they know what they are doing, they know how to innovate.

ye

people are upset that the mainline ff games outside of ff14 is going to be arpg going forward when they haven't notice that turn based can still be a thing in spin off titles and in dragon quest games or in other game ips they have
