There's no way they did not hear about criticisms about the past couple of games

They should drop the turn-based then go back to Super Paper Mario if they don't want progression systems

Honestly, you could tell with Second Son that they didn't want to make it as much. Seems like they wanted to make a new game for a while and they get to now

But all the other abilities were cool. Like neon ofc
