I'm late to the conversation (and discord keeps trying to stop me from looking at older messages, damn thing), but having played both Genshin and khux, I think Genshin's gacha is better in the sense that there's no competition.
Like, you always felt like you had to pull for new medals to keep up with the lux rankings and pvp and all that, which is a shitty feeling.
But there's no competitive anything in Genshin, just the spiral abyss, and that doesn't even have anything like leaderboards to see how well others are doing. As people have claimed and demonstrated, you can even get through it no problem as an F2P and/or using only the free characters you receive from playing the game normally (without pulling on banners)

I almost forgot: wyn, how much storage do you have and what's it all being used on? I know Genshin has a huge file size, but I still have at least half my overall storage space available
