Some people assume no one sticks around on the home screen long enough, but there are those of us that boot our systems up and leave it while getting other things ready or browse through the icons, so a neat background and some tune could actually be appreciated.

It's probably going to be seen as an outdated feature that is not worth the effort since players are not thought to stay on the home screen long enough before opening something for the feature to be of much use, though. Some features get phased out in place of others deemed more useful.
