from what i can tell, it seems the gacha system will be more in line with Opera Omnia where you pull for gear and weapons rather than characters

which i really liked about that game

How does the progression work in that?

characters are supplied to you, and you just give them nicer gear for content clearing

Like do you have to need good gear and weapons to continue?

and for the most part any party can clear story content

Gacha and loot boxes are so annoying. At least battle pass are a bit better.

DFFOO has one of the best gacha systems in a long while so I really do hope they follow that path

It is still a shame that Unchained X/ Union X won't be playable until a remake happens.
