SMT has been its own series for a while

Persona was a spinoff, of which it used to carry the subtitle of SMT on the boxes and stuff

but they dropped it from the titles entirely

SMT itself has still kept going on its own all this time

neither SMT nor Persona really stopped releasing stuff

they just became their own things using the same monsters and demons

nowadays theyre JUST "Persona"

that's all i meant by "before they dropped SMT"

Still excited for Reload, gives me a reason to play the ps2 version and portable now at least

the whole thread has some interesting new info

seems battle tower is their main gacha aspect

getting lower into the tower gives better rewards

to get lower you need better gear

and das where the pulling comes in lmao

That's not too bad, as long as I can experience the story stuff without having to go super deep into the gatcha system, then I'll be content

yeah it seems theyre heavily leaning on their DFFOO model(even looks sorta like it tbh lol). Story is there for story, you'll be able to clear relatively easily without spending money, just a bit of grinding sometimes. Where the pulling is needed will be all the side quest content with timed events and towers etcetc

Makes sense
