Yes layoffs suck

Nah it seems that Bungie overestimated their workload. They had to cancel a bunch of projects and are now only focusing on Destiny and Marathon

Although one of the projects is still being made by the new studio that has 75 people in it

> Second, we are working with PlayStation Studios leadership to spin out one of our incubation projects – an action game set in a brand-new science-fantasy universe – to form a new studio within PlayStation Studios to continue its promising development.

It's not like this is the first time Bungie has done this

They firetrucked up under Microsoft and left, they firetrucked up alone, they firetrucked up under Activision and left and they firetrucked up alone again

I am honestly surprised Bungie is still around thriving with the way it has gone

Yeah Bungie is just a dumpster fire to work for.

just goes to show no matter how hard Bungie devs try and the love they showed on The Final Shape and Into The Light it ultimately doesnt firetrucking matter, this sucks.

What sucks is you can pore so much love and work into something but at the end it has to make money

And not even just any amount of money- an amount of money come up by some executive in a suit who has no idea of any sense of scale or realism. So if the projections are unrealistic, oh well, it's the devs fault for not making a good enough game or the fans for caring enough. That's their logic.

I don't think Sony is at fault, Bungie has always struggled with this

Anything to make Sony the bad guy.
