tbh idk who on their team is telling them more mobile games would be profitable for them….

mobile games revenue vs other platforms went from 32% in 2017 to 52% in 2021, it literally print money no matter what you do and you can kill a game as soon as it's not profitable anymore and nobody cares

it's a 0 risk investment if you jsut write some franchise name on it

Things changed a lot since then though unfortunately. What used to be one of the things keeping Square afloat is no longer doing that great for them. ATM the only thing actually giving them a decent profit is merch and FF14.

Yet their income continues to fall 💀

and missing link IMO swill just be another thing that’ll make them bleed money. At least they’re passionate enough about KH where they don’t care tho.

i'm sure missing link is far from a heavy cost game to develop, and it'll be a gacha so the return, atleast early on will be monumental anyway

i had to explain to friend of mine, who has played every other game in the series, who she was. it was fun telling him she was marluxia's sister 

I mean with a team of essentially 5-10 people, it wasnt like they were innnovating mechanics past its 2nd or 3rd year of existing

On top of all that, Missing Link is a Online 3D Mobile game, which almost always require the most recent or latest hardware to run properly

Look at Mobius Final Fantasy, I tried running that game on my ipad and it just crashed every single time

yeah i'm worried about the performance

with a finite story i don't expect the game to last very long in term of longevity, unlike ux I think nomura knows the full story already
