If blue eyes "unofficially" signify light or a good guy. And if yellow eyes signify a bad guy and darkness, then what does green eyes stand for? Riku has them and so does Axel.

 

My theory is that it is an equal balance between light and darkness. Think of it this way - blue + yellow =green.So wouldn't green eyes for equal balance make sense. Also, in KH1, Riku had blueish green eyes, lot of light, noticable amount of darkness. In KH2, he is able to fully control both the darkness and light within him, henceforth, the green eyes. Makes sense, would it not?

 

Now for Axel - I have absolutely no idea. I was going to ask you guys for some help here. But for the Riku part, what do you guys think?

Interesting theory, I never really thought about Riku's and Axel's eyes. I thought they just gave Axel and Riku green eyes to stray away from the typical blue or brown eyes. I agree with this theory, Axel may have a counterbalance of light and darkness.

I guess Axel could have green eyes because of his whole good and evil theme. He does good things and bad things, mostly in search of self benefit. Or it could be because of Roxas or Sor bringing out light in him.

Riku's eyes =/= Green

They're more aqua-y, I think. But they definitely have some green in them, if just a little

Your theory is interesting and does make sense but what about Ansem? He is not a bad guy but he still possesses yellowish orange eyes. He has done bad things true enough but he has also done some good such as constructing radiant garden, restoring Sora's memory even if there was a selfish motive. He also tries to atone for his mistakes by trying to encapture kingdom hearts. According to the theory, his eyes should be green as well.

Honestly, I really don't think that green eyes doesn't really mean you're a balance between light and darkness. i mean sure, Riku uses both light and darkness, but that doesn't mean anything. I mean, just take a good look at Axel, he doesn't use the power of light at all, he mostly uses the power of darkness all the time. So, having green eyes don't mean anything really. Now, as for having blue eyes, like I said before, doesn't mean a thing. Just look at eraqus and Mickey, they both use light and you don't see them with blue eyes. So it is mostly kind of a refernce to Sora having blue eyes. it doesn't really mean that you're using light.

Uh... I guess that makes a bit of sense, but a few folks before me stated some things that mess up your theory.

It's a well thought out theory, but what about the other? For example, as Slicer9875 said, Ansem's eyes are kind of a gold color. Also, Zexion's eyes are blue, but he's clearly a mischievous character. Plus, there's Larxene-- Full of anything but good, and has green eyes.

Yes, but is it LIGHT, or is it DARKNESS on their hearts.

Nobodies don't have hearts, so it's what's inside their MINDS that count.

Also, those who SUCCUMB to the darkness have golden eyes, not who USES it.

Ansem's eyes are goldenish, but not DARKNESS goldenish.

And Larxene really isn't that bad... ok maybe, so her eyes are greenish, which means she didn't succumb to the darkness, but doesn't use Light either.
